Taxpayer Liaison

A taxpayer liaison officer may be employed by appraisal districts located in a county with a population greater than 125,000. The taxpayer liaison officer assists property owners in understanding the appraisal process and protest procedures. The taxpayer liaison reports to the board on the status of all complaints at each board meeting. The position is appointed by the appraisal district board of directors and it also determines compensation.
